The Nannup Community Resource Centre was previously known as the Nannup Telecentre. The Telecentre was established in 1995 and was housed in the “Old Supper Room” adjoining the Nannup Town Hall. The centre was managed by a Part-Time Coordinator for 20 hours per week and supported by a number of volunteers enabling the centre to be open 30 hours per week. As more volunteers came on board, and services were expanded the centre exended its opening to 40 hours per week. In 2010 the service changed its name to the Nannup Community Resource Centre. During the same year, Committee and staff began a project to purchase its own premises and began fundraising and sourcing funding. In March 2011 a building located at 10 Warren Road was secured with 50% of the funding provided by Lotterywest and Department of Regional Development. Works commenced on the fit-out and redevelopment of the premises. 650 volunteer hours contributed to the work. In Mid 2011 all CRC services were relocated to the new premises which was officially opened by Colin Holt MLC on the 7th July 2011. In March 2012, works commenced on the expansion of the premises with the addition of a dedicated meeting/training room and a purpose built printing and equipment room. Works were completed in early 2013. |
